Mean Man Steals Little Boy’s Puppy

This video shows a very sad little 8 year old boy in Long Beach, California who had his pet yorkie puppy stolen right out of his arms while in his front yard.

The popularity of toy dogs has led to a rash of thefts of small dogs. I think this is terrible!

Do not buy a dog unless you are getting it from a legitimate breeder or the owner has papers on the animal. I am not talking about pedigree papers- make sure they have vet records and can tell you how old the dog is. If you are not sure if the dog you have came from a legit source- take it to your vet and ask for help. More and more dogs are being chipped- if your dog was stolen previously the original owners info will be on the microchip in their neck.

If you want a dog- go to your local shelters first! Ben the Muttnews mascot was a pound pup- he was about a year old and only a week away from euthansia when we walked in and saved his live and brought the happiness of Ben into ours.

Finally- if you live in the greater Long Beach/ Los Angeles area please contact the TV news station that ran the video if you see a dog who looks like the missing puppy, I know it would make a sad little boy really happy to be reunited with his beloved pet.

  3. The puppy is a Yorkie also known as a Yorkshire Terrier. If you are looking for a Yorkie or other small dog- be sure to check out your local animal shelters first! There are so many nice dogs available for adoption there is no reason to buy one if you can save a life instead.
