Author and activist Jana Hohl and Baby

This week marked the launch of a new book by Jana Kohl that features her dog Baby. Baby is a puppy mill survivor and the poster child for a Human Society campaign to get Congress to pass legislation to shut down puppy mills.

The book launch and tour opened with a Los Angeles party featuring celebrities who came out to show their support for Baby and the cause. Attending the party were author Jana Kohl and Baby of course, also Phoebe Price, Cheri Oteri, John Schneider, Carl Weathers, Tia Carrere , The Girls Next door Playboy bunnies Bridget Marquardt and Holly Madison, Rachael Hollingsworth, Roselyn Sanchez and Eric Winter amongst others.

This is a video about Baby and her cause and her book which is a collection of essays and photos with celebrity supporters of her cause.

Baby has been on the celeb activism circuit here for a while- check out how she helps shut down a posh Beverly Hills puppy store right before Christmas. Richard Belzer ( Law and Order SVU) is a long time self- avowed dog worshiper who was happy to lend his support to the cause of ending animal cruelty. Pictured at right is Richard Belzer with his dog Bebe who he takes everywhere with him including at the NBC upfronts earlier this month. Bebe is himself a rescue dog that Richard got while in France a couple of years ago and takes everywhere with him.

Baby and Jana are touring the country in June to promote the book- check out their site to see where there will be so you can meet them in person at ARareBreedOfLove.com
